Our Story

After founding and organizing their own annual charity event since 2011 which raised just under half a million dollars since its start, as well as volunteering for various charities in Charlotte, co-founders Mike and Laura Dascal felt the need to do more. So, in July 2019, they created their own non-profit – The Changing Lives Together Foundation!

The Foundation’s mission is to “To enrich and change the lives of special needs kids and kids with life-altering medical circumstances!” As a Foundation, we will partner with charities whose missions align with ours, host events, create experiences for kids, provide educational scholarships and make financial donations to other charities.

Community. Our mission happens by partnering together with the Community. We recognize that we’re all stronger together and we can accomplish more together.

Laura Grigoleit

Committee Member

Laura, originally from the frozen tundra of Minnesota took a chance and ventured to the South for the first time 6 years ago. She moved to Charlotte knowing no one or nothing about the city. That move was one of the best decisions of her life and led to her finding a whole new family of friends as obsessed with fitness as she is. In addition to fitness, Laura is passionate about traveling, tennis, playing the piano and giving back. After several years of volunteering at different organizations Laura decided it was time to focus her attention and contribute her skills toward CLT, an organization dedicated to giving back to the community she loves so dearly.

Beth Console

Committee Member

Beth was born and raised in Connecticut, where she and her husband, Dan, raised their three sons and one daughter. Volunteering became a big part of her life as she spent the first nearly 20 years of having a family home raising the children. She could be seen several days each week at one of their schools, running one committee or another, as well as spearheading sports booster clubs, and being a committee chair for Cub Scouts for 10 years, and a Scout Leader for five. Beth and Dan, along with three of their grown children, moved to the Charlotte area nearly 7 years ago. Needing to connect in the same way that she did in Connecticut, Beth began volunteering with junior Charity League of Concord, where she is still a sustaining member.

Beth finds fulfillment in being a title 1 tutor at Rocky River elementary School in Cabarrus County. She and Dan are avid bikers, and frequent travelers, together, and often with their entire family, returning to favorite places and exploring new locations. She also loves to read, cook, socialize, and thrives in family time. Besides her family, her greatest loves are her three huskies and her three grand- furbabies. She is thrilled to be a part of the CLT Foundation, and looks forward to many years helping the foundation to grow.
